Eligibility
To become a SCAT Scholar and participate in the 3-year study, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- must be a rising 6th grader
- must commit to participating in all SCAT activities each year of the study
Priority will be given to African-American applicants.
Application
We are accepting applications for the three-year SCAT Program. To apply:
1. Complete the online application
2. Have a teacher write a recommendation letter on behalf of the
applicant
3. Write a 500 word essay entitled “Why I Want to Be a SCAT Scholar”
The sealed teacher recommendation letter and the essay should be mailed and/or emailed to:

Registration
Once all applications have been reviewed and the SCAT Scholars have been identified, the registration process will begin to collect additional information needed before the beginning of the SCAT Summer Camp to be held July 1-12.
